LIVE: Pakistan Fires Across LoC As India Hunts Pahalgam Attackers |Vantage With Palki Sharma
Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) for the fourth time in a row. Incidents of fresh firings were reported in Kupwara and Poonch districts. According to the Indian Army, troops responded swiftly and effectively to the provocations. Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire since April 24 after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. The Indian Navy also carried drills hinting at India’s preparedness in case of any conflict with its border nation. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has been holding continuous meetings, firstly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Currently, the Indian Army, CAPF and J&K police together are carrying out a joint operation to nab the four terror suspects. Further, Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed a resolution condemning the Pahalgam tourist attack. Meanwhile, after a brief pause, the tourists have started visiting Kashmir.
